We know how important benefits are for you and your family. That's why NorthWestern Energy is committed to offering competitive, comprehensive benefits that support you and your family.

Our benefits are designed to energize your life by focusing on four wellbeing categories - physical, mental, social and financial wellbeing. Our programs are designed to provide you peace of mind and protect you and your loved ones. Benefits for represented employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) may differ and are established by the terms of the applicable CBA.

Choosing your benefits takes careful thought and planning. This Benefits Showcase will help you learn about the benefits available to you and your family.

Enrollment

As a new hire, you are eligible to enroll for benefits that will be effective on the first day of the month following your hire date. New hire enrollment is within 31 days following the first day of the month after you're hired. This is your opportunity to enroll for benefits for the remainder of the 2025 plan year.

During enrollment you may:

Enroll yourself and your dependents for medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage
Elect to contribute to a Health Savings Account if enrolled in the HSA Qualified Plan
Enroll in healthcare and/or dependent care flexible spending account(s)

This Benefits Showcase will be available to you on demand all year. Take some time to review this information and return to this site whenever you or your family members have questions or want to review your benefits.

NorthWestern Energy offers both an HSA and an FSA that allow employees to contribute pre-tax dollars that can be used to pay for qualified health care and dependent care expenses. The HSA can also serve as a valuable retirement savings tool.

Mental & Social Wellbeing

We offer an employee assistance plan (EAP), paid time off, holidays and adoption assistance.

Financial Wellbeing

No matter where you are on your journey to retirement, NorthWestern provides you the resources to help you prepare for the future you want through Fidelity Investments, which provides services to the 401(k) plan.

Supplemental Benefits

NorthWestern Energy offers employees access at no charge to Medicare, Social Security and post-retirement financial planning services through Transitions Benefit Group. The service can be utilized by employees for both themselves and their loved ones.
