We serve gas and electric to customers in the western two-thirds of Montana and eastern South Dakota. We also have gas service in Nebraska and serve electricity to Yellowstone National Park.
NorthWestern owns and operates a diverse generation fleet of wind, water, natural gas and coal-fired resources and the high-voltage electric transmission system and distribution system. We also own and operate natural gas production, transmission and distribution systems.

From the Court to the Community: NorthWestern Energy Delivers $2,500 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County

Billings, Mont. – April 2, 2026 – NorthWestern Energy donated $2,500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County following our “Make a Basket, Make a Difference” event held during the 43rd Annual Spring Home Improvement Show, March 6–8, at the Expo Center and Montana Pavilion in Billings.
Throughout the three‑day event, show attendees stopped by NorthWestern Energy’s booth to play our pop‑a‑shot basketball game. Each basket made translated into a donation, with the final total reflecting the enthusiasm and generosity of this community.
“We were excited to see so many people participate and have fun while supporting a great cause,” said Molly Schwend, NorthWestern Energy community relations manager. “Thanks to the strong turnout and all those shots made, we’re proud to donate $2,500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County and support the important work they do for local youth.”
The funds will help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County continue providing mentoring, educational enrichment, positive role models, and a safe, welcoming place for young people in the community.
“Community partnerships like this make a real difference for the kids and families we serve,” said Karrie Owen, vice president of donor advancement for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County. “We are grateful to NorthWestern Energy and everyone who took part in the event. Their support helps ensure our members have access to programs that encourage learning, confidence, and success.”
Last year NorthWestern Energy provided more than $2.1 million in donations, sponsorships, and other support for the communities we serve, where our employees work, live and raise their families, including more than $586,000 in recognition of our employees’ volunteerism.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County has served the Billings community since 1971. Today, the organization operates five Clubhouses serving nearly 1,200 elementary, middle, and high school students, with a mission to enable all young people—especially those who need it most—to realize their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
