Balancing what matters to deliver a bright future

NorthWestern Energy provides our Montana customers with reliable energy service at the lowest long-term cost with a balanced mix of generation resources, keeping lights on and costs down.

You don’t tear down the old bridge until the new bridge is built. We understand the importance of a seamless transition to an even cleaner energy future. We need the 24/7 on-demand generation from the Colstrip Plant for reliable energy service in Montana.

NorthWestern Energy is acquiring more of the Colstrip Plant and constructed the Yellowstone County Generating Station to meet our commitment to provide reliable energy service to our Montana customers.
