NorthWestern Energy replacing natural gas transmission line and facilities in West Glacier

Date: Sep 15, 2022

Kalispell, Mont. – Sept. 15, 2022 – NorthWestern Energy is replacing one-third mile of natural gas pipeline in the West Glacier area.

The construction work, which will begin this fall, may be visible south of US Highway 2 E and the intersection of Highline Boulevard.

NorthWestern Energy will install a new pipeline parallel to the existing natural gas pipeline, a new above-ground valve assembly, a new tap line to the existing regulator station yard and a new regulator station building.

There is no plan to interrupt customer natural gas service.

The project will be complete by summer of 2023.

The new natural gas pipeline will continue to provide reliable, safe natural gas service to NorthWestern Energy’s customers in the West Glacier area. Prior to construction, right-of-way tree clearing, survey work and ground preparation will occur. There may be times that driveway or road access is temporarily interrupted, but not shut down.
