What is RSS?
RSS, or Really Simply Syndication, is a "push-based" communication tool that avoids the use of e-mail. RSS is used for the distribution of information, such as news releases and other timely content. You pick the content to be delivered to you automatically via RSS feeds, eliminating the need to individually visit Web sites. An RSS service (also known as an RSS channel) consists of a list of items, each of which contains a headline, a description, and a link to a web page.
How do I use RSS?
To use RSS, you will need an RSS news reader or aggregator that will allow you to collect and display RSS service. RSS news readers allow you to view the service you select all together in the same place and, by automatically retrieving updates, stay current with new content soon after it is published. There are many different news readers available, many of which are free. Most news readers are applications that you download and install. Some others are a Web-based service you sign-up for that works inside your browser. Listed below is a links to a list of readers found on Yahoo!
After setting up your news reader, you will be ready to use NorthWestern Energy's RSS feed. Follow the instructions for your particular news reader to subscribe to our news feed at the following location.
