For Montana Customers
Montanans are interested in new renewable energy resources to meet their energy needs. In fact, more than 150 NorthWestern Energy customers have installed small photovoltaic or wind generation systems at their homes, schools, or businesses.
Now, a new option is available to our Montana electric customers interested in renewable or "Green" power.
- You may choose to pay as little as $2 extra a month on your electric bill to support the development of new renewable resources.
- By signing up for NorthWestern Energy's E+ Green Program, you buy the environmental benefits associated with renewable energy that is being generated in the northwest and Wyoming
- Your purchase helps fund new renewable energy projects.
- You may choose to buy as many blocks as you like.
If you are a Montana customer and would like to sign up for NorthWestern Energy's E+ Green Product Offering, click here and complete our online form.
Note: This is an E+ Program funded through the Universal Systems Benefits (USB) charge collected from all Montana electric and natural gas customers as required by Montana law.
For Nebraska and South Dakota Customers
Because only Montana customers can purchase green tags from NorthWestern Energy directly, Nebraska and South Dakota customers can purchase them from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. They are a nonprofit organization that sells carbon offsets as renewable energy certificates, or green tags, with all of the revenue reinvested into the development of new renewable energy sources and in watershed restoration projects.
